My name is Jay Matson. I practice in the Washington D.C. office of Loeb & Loeb. Many of my clients would say that I'm creative. In the dynamic energy field, more and more the traditional way of solving problems doesn't work. You need to think outside the box; try and figure out if there's another angle that be used to try and reach a solution.

I think most of my clients enjoy working with me because I view this not just as a job, as a series of issues that need to be solved. But I view this as a relationship.

I like to spend time with my family. I have two daughters, 9 and 7, and when I'm not in the office, I'm generally going to a birthday party or a soccer field or some other event that one of my daughters needs to be at. And if I didn't practice law, I would like to think I could make on the Pro Golf tour because I love golf. Unfortunately, I don't think I would ever quite have the skills necessary to do that.

What I'd do other than law? I don't know, something that would be something intellectually challenging, something where I could help other people, something where I could be of service. A lot of the qualities that I enjoy about law would be those qualities I'd look for in a different career.
